  • Embroidery. Children will need perseverance and concentration. It’s worth starting the training with simple schemes, gradually complicating the pictures.
  • Sewing. Needlework, which is also useful for children in adulthood. Give them to the profile circle, where they tell and show *how to learn to sew and cut from scratch*. There are some types of needlework that you can do with children at home, without shifting their development to educators and teachers. Creativity can be arranged in the form of a game, and all children like to play. The game form will help them better absorb new information.

Main errors of beginning vocalists

The state when the soul sings is familiar and I want to throw out this joy: jumping, screaming, dancing?

Nothing better reflects your emotional mood, like a song in its own performance. You sing in the shower. And once you understand that you want to learn to sing for real.

Looking at the performers, it seems that singing is pretty simple. But this is not so. If you do not have natural talent, then singing skills need to be developed. Otherwise, what you hear on the first recording of your voice, you will not like (dips, vibrations, swimming in tonality, etc.)

Let us share the secrets of what is required to develop singing skills for novice vocalists and what mistakes should be avoided.

The first mistake is improper breathing. On it you can immediately distinguish a beginner from a professional. There are vocal breathing exercises. The main rule: a short and sharp breath through the nose and a smooth exhale with the mouth along with the sound. We must try to exhale without noise and breathe naturally. Remember that vocalists breathe in their stomachs. To straighten the lungs for the best sound will help the correct posture. Straighten, slightly raise your chin. Take a comfortable position.

The second mistake – without chanting and in the absence of developed skills, try to take high notes. It turns out a clamped voice that betrays an amateur. To learn to sing freely, you need special training. How to put a voice for singing is a separate science. There is a whole range of exercises that must be performed regularly. For example, on exhalation we stretch the vowels on one note (e, a, u, etc.), practice “mooing”, singing the gamut (do-re-mi …). First, the voice must be warmed up, moving from low notes to higher ones. We use tongue twisters and other techniques for developing the vocal apparatus. It is better to do this under the supervision of an experienced mentor.

The third mistake for beginners is to sing with their throat, and not with their diaphragm, to stick out their stomach after exhaling. As a result, deep sound will not work. There are many methods in social networks how to learn to sing with a diaphragm. They all come down to the technique of proper breathing by the stomach, in which the exhalation is squeezed out by the diaphragm. It is also worth trying techniques to increase the volume of singing breath. For example, on exhalation we count (one, two, three, etc.) until the air runs out.

The fourth mistake is incorrect diction. The role of diction in singing cannot be underestimated. Blurry sound, blurry words, fuzzy sounds spoil the impression. Particular attention should be paid to the clear pronunciation of consonants. Educators will teach you various tricks. For example, for the effect of ductility, syllables must end with a vowel. It’s nice to take acting classes. With speech defects, a speech therapist will need correction.

The fifth mistake is falsetto singing with a weak voice. To make you want to listen, the song should sound bright and loud, which is achieved by closing the vocal cords. With falsetto this is not possible due to the large air flow. Exercises for developing voice power will come to the rescue. Here is one of them: to take a note and then increase, then decrease the force of exhalation.

Everyone can develop a voice and learn to sing! This requires desire, patience and regular training.

What is more, many of her works are exhibited in the private collections in Ukraine, Germany and many of the CIS countries. Her pedago­gical experience is 6 years.


Alexander Ilyin is not just a pro­gram­mer, but also a photo­gra­pher on all our All-Ukrainian projects. Alexander graduated from East Ukrainian Univer­sity (Lugansk) with a degree in Robotic Systems. Since 2014, he has been working as a data­base pro­gram­mer at “Montes­sori Center”.


Natalya Fomenko is a pro­fes­sional admini­stra­tor who can be trusted by both clients and colleagues. Natalia graduated from The Institute of Psycho­logy and Social Pedagogy of Kyiv Peda­go­gical Univer­sity n.a. B. Grinchenko with a degree in “Social Pedagogy”. “I am imp­res­sed by the charac­ter of those people who set bold goals and are constantly moving towards the results. Every day I see students who share their creative successes, give me their smiles and inspiration. It is pleasant to be an important part of this creative atmosphere opened for everyone – children, teenagers, and adults. Therefore, I strive to create «a small Heaven on earth» for the learning and personal development of all our students. ”


Alina Kozhushko is the engine of all events at “Montessori Center.” Since 2015, Alina has been the leader of several projects: the All-Ukrainian Music Olympiad “Golos Krayiny”, a children’s drawing contest and the online gallery «ChildOpenArt», the All-Ukrainian Open Fine Art Com­pe­ti­tion #=MYSTETSTVO, the All-Ukrainian Open Vocal and Choir Competition “VOCAL.UA” and the All-Ukrainian Open Piano Competition named after S. Pro­ko­fiev “PIANO.UA”. The total number of participants in all projects as in May 2019 was about 5,000! And this is not surprising since Alina has graduated from Kyiv Natio­nal Univer­sity of Culture and Arts with a degree in “PR-manager”, and, probably, the secret of such an active social life is hidden here!

Lyudmila Tkachenko

Lyudmila Tkachenko is a caring and sensitive administrator who knows all the students and their parents. Ludmila knows how to get along with teachers, clients, electricians, and even aquarium fish, so everything around her works “like a clock.” All our students know Lyudmila not the first year, and always «load her with compliments» at every meeting. Lyudmila graduated from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Since 2016, she has been working as an administrator at “Montessori Center”, and she’s really happy about it. “It is interesting for me to work with children and to communicate comfortably with both parents and colleagues. My life motto is “to be attentive to everyone.”

Today there are several thousand Montessori schools in the world, and since 1929 the International Montessori Association has been active. Despite the spread of the technique of Maria Montessori in general aesthetic education, the use of its principles in music education and art schools in Ukraine is still insufficient.

Many Montessori schools complement the environment surrounding the child with such areas as music, visual arts and dance, woodwork, and a foreign language that further enrich the overall development of the child.

Along with the activities of music and choreographic schools according to the Montessori method, there are also art classes. Education in such art classes “Montessori Center” is conducted in many visual techniques and areas; All studios are equipped with media technologies, and animation studios with powerful technology.

The main engine of child motivation, a tool to stimulate work on their own work of art in the Montessori Center is its own online gallery of children’s drawings, which was formed on Google’s Google Open Gallery software. The uniqueness of the Google Open Gallery lies in the fact that it, in particular, reflects art objects in high quality, which allows us to consider even the smallest details of the works. Projects from more than 20 countries of the world were presented on this platform. Only a small number of organizations from five continents received a pilot version of the project. Of these, only the International Art School “Montessori Center” in 2014 presented the direction of children’s creativity on the world stage.

The “chain of motivation” of teaching fine arts at the Montessori Center consists of the following activities:

  • All-Ukrainian open competition of fine art #MYSTETSTVO.

In the framework of these competitions, the principles of Maria Montessori to stimulate self-study and self-development by means of art were implemented.

As a result of collective work, students of the animation studio released several discs with more than 20 cartoons of their own production and uploaded to their own YouTube channel. Pupils create the sets themselves, work on the plot of the cartoon, distribute and voice the roles – and all this happens exclusively in teamwork: the older ones teach the younger ones, there is interaction between the plot authors and animators. After all, according to the Ukrainian scientist V. Shulgina, according to the Montessori method, “it is first important to create a certain environment that would promote the child’s self-development, including the artistic one.”

A very important component of the work of the Montessori Center is working with parents. The Montessori program places the child at the center of its work, and therefore the family as its habitat turns out to be an important component of this work. Sometimes parents are involved in the work of children: family art lessons are held very effectively, it is these classes that motivate, unite with a common goal, liberate and teach to trust each other.*

Montessori Center Musical Schools as an Example of Using the European Methodology in Ukrainian Out-of-School Education

The unique idea of ​​the “Montessori Center” art schools is to implement the system of Maria Montessori’s in the initial aesthetic education, namely in musical, artistic and choreographic schools, as well as in the multi-stage system of competitions for various types of art – musical olympiads, contests and festivals.

In practice, the “Montessori Center” showed the possibility that within the concept of Maria Montessori you can create a multi-stage system of encouragement in the education of the child. Students of such schools have the opportunity to participate and compete in competitions and festivals for all types of arts: from the boundaries of their own school to the All-Ukrainian competition. Within the framework of these competitions, the principles of Maria Montessori are stimulated to stimulate traction for self-education and self-development by means of art.

The effectiveness of teaching to the types of art and aesthetic education through the Montessori system consists in the absence of an assessment, the formation of a favorable environment, as well as in the formation of motivation and stimulation of self-study.

The methodology of the outstanding Italian educator and philosopher, Maria Montessori, is nowadays popular and recognized worldwide. Many qualified instructors are convinced of its effectiveness and successfully apply the work of M. Montessori in working with students, often achieving surprisingly high results. Innovation of the Montessori pedagogical system consists in the individual approach of the teacher to each student. First of all, this is manifested in the fact that the student’s interests and preferences are always of paramount importance in teaching. Maria Montessori believed in the self-worth of the inner world of every pet and tried to develop and motivate his aspirations all the time.

The most important rule for Montessori’s technique is to avoid criticism, coercion and judgment. Maria Montessori herself was convinced that the stiffness of pedagogical methods is harmful to the student. Her well-known postulates suggest that if the child is often encouraged – he learns to be self-confident, and vice versa, if the child is often criticized – he learns to condemn. That’s why Maria Montessori always listened to the needs of her students and gave them the opportunity to partly “dictate their rules” in the educational process. She believed that the student’s pace of learning, his direction and methods of individual development has the right to choose on his own. The teacher, in this case, must understand and support his pupil, as well as contribute in every way to his growth.

In “Montessori Center” music schools, students choose the direction of instruction – academic or contemporary. The repertoire of the pupil-performer can combine classical works and works of contemporary authors, performing on authentic or electronic instruments (synthesizer, electric piano, electric guitar, etc.). The musical classes of these schools are equipped with different types of musical instruments, giving them the opportunity to make their own choices or learn on several musical instruments in parallel without having such an arsenal of opportunities at home.

The uniqueness of the refraction of the method of Maria Montessori in the “Montessori Center” music schools, namely the principle of stimulating traction for self-learning, the development of motivation, can be described by the following scheme of own developments in the following sequence:

  • a music lesson,
  • musical project “Concerts on Saturdays”,
  • qualifying rounds of the musical Olympiad,
  • All-Ukrainian musical Olympiad “Voice of the Country”.

And as a result of this methodology – a person who is developing creatively. The final link in “Montessori Center” does not necessarily mean the continuation of vocational education in the field of art, but aims to develop a child’s love for art, an interest in various arts and their own creativity.

In the field of musical education, the skills of stage mastery, concert performances are very important. Our “Concerts on Saturdays” project allows school students to perform a program so often on stage as possible at school age. At these musical evenings, each “Montessori Center” student, regardless of age and level of preparation, can speak to the public and demonstrate its achievements. The chamber of the school helps the soloists feel confident and comfortable at home, and the welcoming audience at the concert will calm down and inspire even if the student is afraid of the scene.

The most massive project of “Montessori Center” was the All-Ukrainian musical Olympiad “Voice of the Country”. One of the goals of musical training at “Montessori Center” for students is to take part in the qualifying rounds of the musical Olympiad, which take place in Kiev, and after them – in the All-Ukrainian Music Olympiad.

The main task of the Montessori technique is to stimulate cravings for self-education and self-development. A teacher should not interfere and impose himself, he must help the student independently manifest his individual abilities and talents.

“Montessori Center” is an example of the development and use of the European methodology in Ukrainian extra-curricular education and the dissemination of examples of the application of the principles of Maria Montessori in practice in the aesthetic education and upbringing of children of Ukraine.
